We are transparent

Transparency is a product principle at Tamats, not a slogan. Here is what that means in practice.

We are transparent

Transparency is one of the easiest words to put on a landing page and one of the hardest things to actually practice. We try to practice it, in the product itself and in how we talk to you. This post explains what that means concretely, because a promise of transparency should itself be specific.

We show honest states, never fake ones

This is the single rule the whole product is built around, and we hold to it strictly rather than as a preference.

Nothing fabricated ever renders

If a feature does not have its real data source connected, it tells you so honestly. It does not fill the gap with invented results, sample rows dressed up as real, or demo content that looks like the real thing. An empty, honest state is always better than a convincing lie, because a convincing lie is the thing that burns you at the worst possible moment, usually right after you have started trusting it.

Cite or abstain

When our agent makes a factual, safety, or regulatory claim, it links to a real source. If it cannot find one, it says so plainly rather than guessing. We would rather the system admit the limit of what it knows than produce a confident answer you cannot verify. In a field where a wrong compliance claim carries real consequences, this is not a nicety. It is the core of the job, and we treat it that way.

Why honesty in the product matters

A tool that occasionally invents a plausible answer is worse than a tool that sometimes says it does not know, because the first kind teaches you to trust it right up until the moment it fails you. We would rather be the second kind. Predictable honesty, including honest limits, is what lets you actually rely on a system for decisions that matter.

We are clear about pricing

Pricing is where a lot of software quietly stops being transparent, and where a lot of trust quietly leaks away.

No hidden tiers, no surprise line items

Our pricing is public and simple to read. You should be able to understand what you pay and what you get before you ever talk to a salesperson. There are no mystery tiers that appear only inside a negotiation, and no surprise charges that show up after you have committed. If the price is going to matter to your decision, and it should, then you deserve to see it clearly and up front.

We are honest about what we can and cannot do

Overselling is the fastest way to lose the trust of the exact people you most want to keep.

Strong today, and still building

Some things in Tamats are genuinely strong today. Others are still in progress. We would rather tell you exactly where a given feature stands than imply everything is finished and let you discover the gap yourself at an inconvenient moment. When you ask us whether Tamats does something, you will get a straight answer, and sometimes that straight answer is not yet.

Our security posture, documented the same way

We hold our own security posture to the same standard. It is documented control by control, including the parts that are not finished. We do not claim certifications we do not have, and we name the gaps we are still closing rather than hoping you will not ask. If you want to see that documentation, we will share it with you.

How we handle our own mistakes

Being transparent also means owning what goes wrong. When we find an issue, our instinct is to fix it, record it, and be straight about it rather than quietly patch it and hope no one noticed. A company's honesty is tested most in the moments it would be easiest to stay quiet, and that is exactly where we want to be trustworthy.

Why we work this way

Transparency is not a marketing line for us, and it is not a one time campaign. It is a design principle that shows up in the code, on the pricing page, in the security documentation, and in the way we answer hard questions.

We also think it is simply good business. The teams we want to work with are the ones who value a straight answer over a polished one, and building for them means being the kind of company that gives straight answers by default. If that is the kind of partner you are looking for, we think you will feel it quickly, and we would be glad to hear from you at team@tamats.org.
